A while back, I woke up to check my email and found a wedding information inquiry with the bride and groom living in England. Magda had a fascination with PEI and Anne of Green Gables since she was a little girl and thought what a great place to have her wedding at. She invited her best friend (Magda as well) and her husband to come to share in their beautiful day. Through email correspondence, I helped her find a few vendors needed to make their day extra special.
I met with Iian (pronounced Ian) and Magda the day they flew into PEI. I was amazed by their friendliness and genuine personalities. Both smiled the happiest of smiles I have ever seen. To be in their presence was uplifting and I couldn’t wait for their wedding day.
The day of their wedding was a cool PEI June day. Although to me it was welcomed considering all the snow we experienced over the winter (it was almost t-shirt weather for me…lol), they were adamant on having the ceremony outside on the grounds of Dalvay By the Sea. Magda’s dress came from a boutique in England and designed from two gowns that she liked. It was beautiful. Andrea styled the ladies hair and prettied them up with make-up. Her elegant flowers from House of Flowers. Iian was overjoyed seeing her the first time in her wedding attire that I shed a tear as well seeing how much they admired one another.
After the ceremony, preformed by Brenda Bulger, hot chocolate awaited for us inside…and was the best hot chocolate I have ever tasted. We moved onto the first location of a beach by Stanhope. We captured their love, had some giggles, and got sand on our toes. We had to stop on a PEI dirt road, Covehead beach with a lighthouse in the background, and a beautiful tree area.
I have never met such lovely people as the four present that day. The love shared between Iian and Magda, the friendship bond between both Magdas, and their smiles will be a wedding I will fondly remember!
