PEI photographer greeted Nova Scotia with opened arms this past weekend. I signed up for a wedding workshop at White Point Beach Resort that was hosted by Jeff Babineau and Trevor Allen (both Nova Scotia wedding photographers and I studied photography with Jeff at Holland College.) I hit the road one week ago from today and I fell in love with the location…and am still amazed but mostly talk about the fabulous food (’cause that is really what I loved.) 😉 Breakfast was so awesome! Oh, and there are bunnies there! Hopping all around that you could feed!
Moving on….the workshop was fantastic! It was a “fake” wedding with a real bride and groom and their best mates. Of course their real wedding was last October in New Orleans and photographed by Jeff Babineau. Nine photographers, including myself, captured “normal events” of a wedding day. We learned tips from Jeff (and fellow photographers) during the bride and groom getting ready, wedding party shots, ceremony, reception details, dance, and some fun moments playing with light (flashlights, sparklers, an steel wool.) Of course the steel wool shot will require a lot of practicing for safety reasons!
The next day consisted of Trevor talking about social media and I was all ears! That man can talk! Truly a wealth of knowledge and the best thing, he shared the information with all of us! It was greatly appreciated to be able to sit in that room and absorb it all. Thank you to both for their time that they shared with us.
Here are some captures that I took during the weekend. (You’ll see Jeff in some as well during his time with us.)
